AHT Electrical Ltd is a Wellingborough-based electrical contractor with more than 35 years in the trade, serving homes and businesses across Northamptonshire and the wider areas. We're an NICEIC Approved Contractor and NICEIC Domestic Installer, Part P registered and fully compliant with the 18th Edition wiring regulations — so every job, from adding a socket to powering a production line, is designed, installed, tested and certified to the same standard.
Our work spans domestic, commercial and industrial: rewires and fuse board upgrades, EICRs and PAT testing, emergency lighting, LED lighting schemes, data cabling, ventilation and OZEV registered EV charge points. We also hold service contracts with local shopping centres, keeping their lighting, power and emergency systems tested and running. Are you NICEIC approved?
Yes, and in both categories that matter. We are an NICEIC Approved Contractor, which covers our commercial and industrial installation work, and an NICEIC Domestic Installer, which covers work in homes. Both involve being independently assessed on the work we actually carry out, not just paying a subscription.

Which areas do you cover?
We are based in Wellingborough and cover Northamptonshire and the surrounding areas. If you are not sure whether you fall within our patch, call us on 01933 674 191 — it is a quicker answer than guessing.

What counts as an electrical emergency?
Anything unsafe, or anything that stops a property or site functioning: total loss of power, a board that will not stay on, a burning smell, scorching at a socket or switch, exposed conductors, or water damage to wiring. If you are in any doubt, isolate what you safely can and call.

How much will my electrical work cost?
Every property and every job is different, so we price each one individually rather than publishing a standard rate that would be wrong for most people. What drives the price is the scope, the access and the state of the existing installation — all things we establish before quoting.

Can you install an EV charging point at my house?
Yes. We are OZEV registered for electric vehicle charge point installation. We check the incoming supply, the earthing arrangement and the consumer unit first, then recommend the right charger and the best position for where you actually park.

What are your opening hours?
Our office hours are Monday to Friday, 8am – 6pm. Outside those hours our emergency line is available 24 hours a day, every day of the year, for genuine electrical emergencies.
Where we work
One van, one patch, no franchise map
We work out of Wellingborough and cover the towns and villages around it, out towards Northampton, Kettering, Corby and the Bedfordshire border. When you call, the van comes from here — there is no national number and no network of subcontractors behind it.
